Charting a flightpath for humanitarian drones: WFP Technical Working Groups shape protocols even before takeoff

WFP started building drone capacity in 2017. In 2019, following Cyclone Idai in Mozambique, it deployed drones for the first time in an emergency response to conduct rapid post-disaster assessments as well as coordinate with national officials and partners on the ground.
